Exclusive Apartments and Villas
for your stay and holiday in Lucca

. 2 Bedrooms
. 2 Bathrooms
. Furnished Terrace

Elegant and exclusive top floor terraced flat in the very heart of Lucca Historic centre a few steps from everything you may need.
The "altana", covered and large terrace adds something to your - already very comfortable - stay.

The apartment is located on the third and top floor of a historical building, which was recently restored. The building dates back to the 1600's. In the 1800's it was a famous inn, called La Locanda della Croce di Malta (the tavern of the Maltese cross), where the famous Italian writers Giovanni Pascoli and Alessandro Manzoni stayed in various occasions. This is why we decided to call it Manzoni...although less celebrated in Lucca, than the beloved Giovanni Pascoli. Not many people may know that Alessandro Manzoni had a special relationship with Lucca, not only because his daughter, Vittoria, married a famous aristocratic from Lucca, but also because he had cousins, the Counts Bianucci, who he frequently visited.

With the recent restoration, an elevator could be done so now there is an elevator from the street level to the apartment. Another great bonus… a luxury to be in a medieval town!

The apartment opens onto a wide day area furnished with a modern style sitting area and a fully equipped kitchen provided with top-quality electrical appliances: dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, electric oven, microwave, 5 gas cooker, Coffee Maker - double doors no frost refrigerator.
Some steps leads you from the living room to the altana which is really beautiful. Altana is a covered panoramic terrace... you can enjoy it even when it rains and even in the late fall..
Then you find two bedrooms and two full bathrooms (not en-suite). decoration of the bedrooms is really sophisticated and hand made by a local artist. One of the bedroom is double, one is twin or double (you can choose). One bathroom has a bath-shower and the other one has a walk-in shower. Bathrooms are not en-suite. The apartment is fully air conditioned and also comes with washer and dryer, television (Italian television) and wifi. Two bikes at your complete disposal.

The location is also superb.
Few steps from the main Piazza Napoleone and Piazza san Michele, from the bus station and from parking (on payment) Train station is 10 minutes walking away. Groceries and restaurants all around in the nearby.. just few steps away from your front door. Really Very Central!

Manzoni, a spacious, modern apartment was the perfect base for our Lucca stay. We enjoyed the comfortable living area, well appointed and equipped kitchen and the wonderful terrace for enjoying meals in the fresh air with views over the Lucca roof tops. The apartment is conveniently located for food shopping along Via San Paolino and for accessing 'la mura' the wall of Lucca from Piazza Verde. Debora presented an abundance of information about Lucca, where to eat, drink and buy food and her team were extremely helpful in organizing anything from tours to language lessons. You will be in good hands if staying in one of Debora's apartments.

This is not so much a review of the apartment (which is wonderful) but our overview of Lucca Holiday Homes. This was our sixth stay in one of Debora's properties, and it's not an exaggeration to say that each time has been spectacular. Each apartment we've stayed in has been immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and beyond our expectations in terms of supplies and equipment. As for Debora - she is the best, simply the best. Attention is very personal. One knows that one's needs are important to her. Extremely responsive in a very timely way, there is nothing to which she will not attend. We feel very confident in Debora's competence and care. Having travelled extensively and dealt with many agents and agencies, I can say without hesitation that, unlike others, Debora has never disappointed, and neither have her properties. Lucca is a special place to which we will return over and over, but it is in large part to Debora, who has disclosed the magic of Lucca and its abundant riches.

We had the most wonderful week in apartment MANZONI in June. The apartment was of a tremendously high standard and the location was unbeatable - two minutes walk to the main square, but so peaceful and quiet. And the view from the covered outdoor deck on the roof - terracotta tiles almost as far as the eye could see, right through to the hills and mountains on the horizon!! Dreaming of a return already!

We absolutely loved staying at the Manzoni. It looks exactly as it does in the pictures and was sparkling clean. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the cooking equipment we needed. And the terrace! We spent a lot of time on the beautiful terrace visiting and laughing with our friends. Deborah was very kind - we arrived in Lucca the day before our rental started and she let us stay that night in the apartment without extra charge. We were met at the train station by a driver who took us to our front door and returned us to the train station when we had to leave. It was a fabulous trip and a perfect place to stay. Thank you Deborah!

This place was absolutely great. We camped out on the deck through the day and we could still be there if we had the chance.
The apartment was spacious, comfortable and very quiet (a major concern of mine.)
Lucca is one of the top cities to visit in Tuscany and this is the apartment to stay at while in Lucca. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had an amazing stay in this apartment! The location was perfect, steps away from great restaurants, fresh foods, and shopping. The apartment was spacious and modern, every amenity we could ever have needed. Every day, we ventured either into town or took the rental car to surrounding sights, (paid parking 2 blocks away). When we got home, our fabulous altana is where we unwound and enjoyed a nice bottle of wine while listening to the stereo provided. The only negative- the bathtub is quite slippery when taking a shower. I would recommend a rubber mat or other non-skid item to prevent slipping. Otherwise, the apartment was perfect! Thanks Debora for all your help with our late check-in and tours!

Lucca is a beautiful town. If you have not been, you should go.
We are fortunate enough to travel a lot, so we have seen many vacation homes and I will say that the Manzoni apartment was one of the best places we have ever stayed.
The apartment had everything we needed, very comfortable. I loved having a grill on the top floor patio, making a beer can chicken while looking out over the city is a memory I will always cherish.
Debora was a great host and if for some reason the Manzoni does not work, I would not hesitate to book any of her other listings.

Well what can I say...This apartment is the best rental apartment I have ever stayed in, it was spacious, very clean and modern and has everything you could hope to find. No expense has been spared in its decoration and it was a real home from home. The apartment is on the top floor of a typical Lucca building and is serviced by an elevator, so no need to worry about stairs. The location is central and is only a 3 minutes walk from the main bus stop in Lucca, which runs a service to Pisa/Pisa airport.
I would like to say a big thank you to Debora who was outstanding, her advice on choosing the right apartment and information provided on Lucca was perfect. I really cannot recommend Debora and Lucca holiday homes high enough.
I will certainly revisit Lucca again and will without a second thought use the service provided by Lucca holiday homes and I will definitely choose this apartment if it is available.

The Manzonni is a real gem. In an historic building on a quiet street in the centre of everything, the apartment has been beautifully renovated to combine original charm with contemporary sophistication and comfort. The kitchen is fabulous and so well equipped - the whole apartment stylish, tastefully furnished, spacious, clean and cosy. The covered terrace is a real bonus in good weather - looking out over the rooftops of Lucca. It made our 10 day stay an absolute pleasure. Debora is outstanding. She was so knowledgeable and generous in her help at every stage from finding the right apartment to being there for any advice or assistance throughout our whole stay. She has our highest recommendation.
